An Absolute Answer: Part 5

It started out real slow, numbing at first, but then the real pain began. I could feel every vein in my body turning to liquid fire, clawing at my insides and burning every tissue and bone. My vision went black, I could only hear Edward screaming in agony, “why”, was all I could think. Why was the angel screaming in agony, wasn’t I the one who was suffering the fire?
“Edward get a hold of your self!” it was Carlisle speaking.  “Stop drinking, she’s fixing to faint from blood loss, oh no, Emmett!” I heard Emmett come into the room. “Edward, what the . . . get off of her!” I managed to open my eyes through the fire. I saw Emmett grab Edward and throw him across the room.
Alice came into the room. “Emmett we have a tinny weensy little problem, Jasper can smell her.” “Oh crap, when does my job end with these people?”
I felt my blood pumping the fire through my veins. EDWARD, HELP ME! It was a strong thought but I didn’t have the strength to voice it out. “Carlisle what happened . . . is she okay did I hurt her!?”  “No you didn’t kill her but, she did lose a lot of blood, but the venom has a enzyme to make the blood pump faster so the heart can stop in matter of days, and so the venom can circulate all the way through the body to complete the change, so she should gain consciousness in a matter of minuets,” “EDWARD, HELP ME” “Make that a matter of seconds.”
I was feeling more awake every second the pain was getting worse my heart was speeding up the fire that coursed through my entire body. But the fire wasn’t hot, the more I realized it was cold. So cold, freezing every part of me, more liquid lightning than fire. My body was on fire now, it seemed the feelings were shifting, true torture, and I couldn’t think straight all my senses were disoriented.
Then I started to get used to the pain, I could open my eyes for the first time in what seemed like days but it couldn’t be over could it, no surly not. “Edward, how long has it been since you bit me?” “Oh finally awake are we? Well, about three days.” “What, are you serious I missed all of it?” “No just kidding, you’ve only been going through it for about four hours, believe me it gets worse.” “Oh good what a relief,” “Relief, what are you talking about I thought you’d be angry that you still have a long, long, long time to go before it’s all over?” “Edward I want to be conscious for the whole experience, I wouldn’t be able to appreciate being with you for eternity if I didn’t remember the price I had to pay to get there.” He looked hard into blank space for a moment like he was concentrating real hard on something “Well that does make since when you say it like that.” Then the fire and ice came back the pain made me want to black out again to dull the pain once more like it did in the beginning but my eyes just wouldn’t knock themselves out. I gasped like someone had hit me hard in the stomach with a brick because that’s where the pain seemed to be centered. “AAHHH, EDWARD THE FIRE THE ICE!” “I know Bella I know, it hurts your thinking about dying you just want it to end I know I’ve been there. But, you are a lot stronger than me, by now I was crying and was asking Carlisle to end my life, and if I remember correctly you haven’t asked for an end yet so that right there makes you stronger than me by a million.” “E-E-Edward,” I said through sobs of pain “I do want it to end,” another wave of pain sent me squirming, “but I’m to scared, scared of the pain, to even voice what I want, I’m just a coward under the pain.” “Well the only way is to find out through time.” He said so gently that I had no choice but to believe him,

DAY 2
This was not as bad. The pain didn’t hold up but stayed constant. Carlisle was checking on us every hour to make sure we were okay. Edwards bite marks had totally disappeared. Carlisle said that the venom was doing its job. And also the sweat that had been covering me had disappeared so that must mean that my body is starting to shut down.
“Edward what’s wrong, your not yourself.” “Oh, nothing, well it is something; Alice said that her vision for the next couple of days had been going blind, which means that your pup will make a visit. Remember he went missing a couple of months before the wedding?” I did remember Jake went missing after Edward sent a wedding invitation to him; Sam blamed it all on Edward. “Yes what does Jake coming hear have to do with any thing.” I had grown a little sour toward him not being able to just le go Edward said it wasn’t in my nature to be so mean as he put it but Jake just needed a little tough love. “Well it could mean a fight but maybe it will all pass unviolently who knows?”
The rest of the day went on and Edward stayed by my side the whole time talking to me and comforting me when the pain got to be rough. We noticed that certain features on me were becoming different; like my eyes weren’t brown any more they were sort of dark orange to light red but not that vivid ruby.

DAY 3
This was the worst day. The Fire and the ice mixed with lightning came right in the morning. Edward tried to comfort me, but aside from just taking the pain, nothing could help me now. I felt alone and everything was starting to get real clear, new smells, new feelings, new sight, and new hearing, everything was drastically altered to make it mare superhuman than any natural. I didn’t mutter a single word for fear of screaming forever, for that is what I thought I might do if I tried to speak.
But all of a sudden everything started to calm down, the pain resided and it felt like I was being born all over again, I felt wonderful.
And I new that it was over forever I was at last a strong, beautiful, and slightly thirsty Vampire.
“Bella are you okay? Is it finally done?”
“Yes Edward it’s finally over and I feel great.”
